My Source of Strength

Father,

This devotion speaks so deeply to my heart…in many ways.  So many things are crying out for my attention…bills, paperwork, Rachel’s needs, other people’s needs, thank you notes, and so much more.  I feel so overwhelmed, if not for you, Father.  I don’t know where to start.  The heat has gotten to me and my energy is just totally shot…not an ounce of it there to even begin any of these things.  And my mind is mush to the point that I can’t focus or even put a sentence together to pray for those on my heart.  The burdens are so great…yet nothing comes out when I try to pray because my mind is so fatigued. I’m so glad your Holy Spirit is there to intercede on my behalf…and on behalf of those for whom I long to intercede.

All day today, I have thought of Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  I know I can do what you have called me to do—both ministry and personal responsibility—through the strength you give me…the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength.  I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 2:9 which tells me that your power is made perfect in my weakness.  And Isaiah 40:31 tells me, as I wait and lean upon you, you will renew my strength so that I will walk and not grow weary; I will run without fainting; I will even soar with eagle’s wings.

Thank you, Father, that I do find sweet rest and victory in your strength. Thank you for enabling me to do above and beyond anything I could ever do in my own strength.  Thank you for your promise in Philippians 1:6 that you will finish the work you started in me.  I'm so glad you are my Father...and in control.  Yes, you are faithful and you will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:24)

I love you!

Debbie

Blessings Debbie... I love these "Intimate Conversations with the Father" by Rebecca (I even got her book after receiving them in my email for over a year) and each word of your Sweet "P"!

Father, Hear the heart of Debbie when she is so overwhelmed and fatigued. carry her and lift her. Thank You for Your Spirit pleading on her behalf. Help her with all the "stuff" that needs to get done
so she can be free to put her thoughts together again to you.
You are the source of Debbie's strength. Restore her JOY in you!
Debbie can DO all things through Jesus who strengthens her right now. Debbie is running and claiming wonderful, powerful scriptures of truth. Thank You for bringing her rest & victory! Halleluia! Standing with her in her Sweet "P"!!!

Hold on to Him Debbie! I loved getting to know you briefly here on your blog and your heart for Quito and your daughter here in Mexico.

This prayer made me tear up again like so many the other prayers posted this past weekend. Wow, powerful truths in there. Thank you for your willingness to post such a real heartfelt prayer. I echo an amen.

Lord, please strengthen sweet Debbie. Allow her to rest in your wings. Minister to her as she ministers to others. Revive her heart. Renew her mind and body. Hold her close to your heartbeat. In Jesus name, Amen.

Love you, sister.

Thank you, ladies, for your prayers. The heat has been hard on me this summer (due to MS) and it had really been taking a toll on me. Last week was better and I did have opportunity to minister to several women, actually. It is only through HIS strength that I do anything, and summer months (in Texas, no less) remind me of my need to depend on Him.

Peggy, my daughter was in Amealco, Mexico...serving at a youth camp there (Kononia). She had a wonderful experience. Another daughter went to Celaya last year. My oldest daughter has also been on two mission trips to Mexico but I can't remember where she went. They were several years ago.
